Exfoliation is the removal of dry/dead skin cells on the surface of the skin and is one of the most important and beneficial steps in your routine. It is important both in acne and anti-ageing prevention.

Here are a few reasons why you should exfoliate:

Reduce Acne: Exfoliating is an essential way to manage breakouts and acne. Many of us recognise the importance of cleansing our skin but under-estimate the power of exfoliating. Exfoliating goes deeper than cleansing to remove dirt and oils in order to unclog pores effectively.

Dark marks and Acne Scarring: Exfoliation helps to renew the skin faster causing the marks and scars to heal faster.

Hyperpigmentation: Pigmentation or Hyperpigmentation is the dark areas that come from ageing, hormonal changes, or even pregnancy. Exfoliation is beneficial for breaking up pigmented cells, encouraging them to fade.

Dry Flaky Skin: You can say bye-bye to your dry flaky skin if you commit to a mild exfoliating routine to remove dead skin cells consistently.

Shrinks Pores: As mentioned above the benefits includes unclogging pores, removing dead skin cells as well as oil and dirt. Essentially these are the causes of enlarged pores but with effective exfoliation the appearance of your pore will be greatly minimised

Here are some fantastic exfoliating products for all skin types. If you are unsure about which one to get leave a comment below or follow me on IG and DM me.

I say all this to say; be careful not to over exfoliate your skin as it will have an adverse (reverse) effect on your skin. There are two types of Exfoliation Physical/Mechanical and Chemical. You can read more on chemical exfoliants here. I’m unsure what exfoliation would be best for a uh… 25 year old cough dad of 6 with 3 grandchildren.. I think my daughter uses one of these herself. I have pretty regular skin just some eczema here and there would exfoliating help that? Thank you for your time. Nice blog!

Exfoliating can help but not on a regular basis. I will say at most once a month, aim for fewer if possible.

The 7-day cream scrub is a good one to try. Although I wouldn’t recommend daily use.

The good things about this is because man can you too Generally, men’s skin differs from women’s skin. Men’s pores tend to be larger, and their skin contains more collagen and elastin. They also produce more sweat and have more hair. For these reasons, men’s skin tends to trap more dirt, and exfoliating can help men improve their skin’s health. Getting rid of dead skin cells also exposes hair follicles, making it easier to get a closer shave and keep your skin cleaner and fresher. thank you so much for sharing your experience with us 🙌🙌
